Logo created for a long-standing aviation club. The challenge was trying to portray the historical foundation of this group and the current projects like the Young Eagles program they actively support by taking children on their first ride to the sky. The club is based around the hobby of experimental aircraft – which has brought the spirit of aviation from its start to today’s terms. Touches of symbolism were a must with the Corsair which was flown by Vic Erickson in WWII (he also piloted my Young Eagle flight!), the blue of the Mississippi River and of course Steve Kurtz namesake. Little did Steve and Vic know they would be local heroes of this club – they are since gone, but I was fortunate enough to know them. I’m proud to say I’ve met members of the current group and seen first-hand the influences they have on others with their passion and ingenuity. This group is full of amazing individuals with stories that should really be put into a book someday!
